What to do if you are involved in an auto accident:

  • Do not leave the scene.
  • Contact the police immediately after the accident.
  • Exchange information with all other parties involved and record
    accident details.
  • Do not discuss whose fault the accident was, nor limits of insurance coverage.

What to do after a loss to your home

  • After a fire has damaged your home, you may need to call a contractor to secure the home and disconnect the utilities. Do not dispose of any
    damaged items.
  • In the event of water damage, it may be necessary to stop the flow of water by turning off the main water supply to the home or contacting a plumber. Remove as much standing water as you safely can from the home.
  • If wind/hail or another act of nature causes damage to your home, make temporary repairs and protect property from further damage.
  • If your home has been burglarized or vandalized, notify the police, secure the home and take inventory of the damaged/stolen property.
  • During power outages, unplug computers and other electronics to avoid possible electrical damage from power surges.
  • If you can safely do so after a loss, it’s your responsibility to protect your property from further damage.

After an auto or home loss, please report your claim to your insurance company immediately. After you report your claim, an insurance adjustor will contact you to initiate the claims process, which includes:

  • Scheduling an inspection of your damages
  • Keeping you informed of the payment process and repair options
  • Resolving your claim quickly
